I’m always so confused when people compare Kataang and Makorra

Yes, they’re both canon, but the similarities stop there. Makorra is nothing like Kataang. With Kataang, you see real honest-to-god love, passion, emotion, and trust (oh god all the trust). With Makorra you see more lust than anything, and a strong dependency on each other, but it isn’t a healthy sort of trust since it spanned from nothing. (literally nothing, they know like nothing about each other)

If anything, I think there are more similarities in Kataang and Borra (i.e, real love, strong friendship, caring, open feelings, damn i could go on). 

To be honest though, I just hate when people try to compare any pairings from the first series. but if they do it they ough to do it right.

I totally agree. I also really hate it when people try to say that Makorra happened only because Zutara didn’t. Like seriously? Bryke did NOT do that simply because your ship sank. Don’t get me wrong, I may not like these ships but I’m not saying that people who like them are WRONG or anything. But to have such a rude and entitled opinion/idea about it? That’s hurtful and rude.

That is just like people saying that Bolin is the new Sokka. No. He. Isnt. Like seriously. I know  there are times when I compare LoK to A:TLA but I don’t compare like entire characters and their personalities to one another. And I would never do that with Ships.

And the whole thing about Makorra that bothers me is that…it seems like they just totally shoved Bolin and his feelings off to the side. Korra to be honest didn’t even seem to overly ACKNOWLEDGE them even when presented to her in The Spirit of Competition. And yet actively throughout the rest of the ENTIRE season…it seemed like Bolin was the only one who genuinely made her laugh/happy. Not Mako.

I just…I hope something changes next season…Like that Bolin’s new ‘love interest’ will spark something in Korra…even if its just a REALIZATION of “Wow…he likes/liked me.” that will be enough.
